FOUNDER'S DIRECTING AWARD:
FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA; SCREENING OF THE RAIN PEOPLE
Friday, May 1
On May 1, Francis Ford Coppola will be honored onstage at the Castro Theatre with the Founder's Directing Award.
The event will take the form of a free-ranging onstage conversation between Coppola and his longtime colleagues and collaborators George Lucas, Walter Murch, Carroll Ballard and Matthew Robbins. Following the conversation, an extended audience Q&A, and the trailer from Coppola's upcoming film Tetro, there will be a screening of a custom-built 15-minute clip reel featuring on-set footage of Coppola over several decades. The evening will culminate in a screening of Coppola's 1969 classic The Rain People, which was the first American Zoetrope production 40 years ago.
Tickets are available now here or by calling 925-866-9559 (9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri).
